The Controversy
SAG-AFTRA Stands Against Seedance 2.0
Hollywood are not happy.
Videos have been posted featuring the likeness of celebrities without consent, generated using the Seedance 2.0 model.
This is not a new phenomenon, especially with the image-to-video workflow, but Seedance 2.0’s quality and cinematic outputs make them so close to a real movie scene that the realism has crossed a line for some film studios.
There is no word as to what further actions are being taken, and Seedance 2.0 development seems to be continuing as planned.
But we can probably expect a bunch of changes:
SEEDANCE 2.0 WILL BE NERFED
Expect the censorship of the tool to increase, changing what kind of prompts are allowed. Action movies and aggressive style scenes may be affected.
Image-to-video may suppress the use of characters, especially those with likeness, which can affect unique IP created.
