Tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Grok all require connection to their services to work. You need to be connected to the internet.
In the situations where a connection isn’t there, you can still run a local model to chat, analyze files and take action which stays local to you.
No uploading data to the cloud, no giving data to major corporations - just you, yourself and an AI assistant.
With LM Studio, there are dozens of amazing models that you can download from Google, Meta etc that are open source and available. Just make sure your device can run it, as you have to download it.
