The Pivot Comes From Within
Hard Skills Became Useless To Me
AI makes hard-skills more accessible, easier to learn and more replaceable. It didn’t matter how well I wrote anymore, the speed of my analysis and reports.
AI could do it.
I had to sit down and understand what skills I had behind the output and deliverables.
What did I have left if everything physically in my hand was gone.
I discovered the following:
I’m a good public speaker, I used to perform music live. But is that even valuable anymore?
Building communities, I’ve been creating content since 2007. Does anyone care about community?
Adaptability, I’ve spent my whole life as an expat + third culture kid. Does anyone give a shit?
When I put all these things together, I started to understand inate skills I had been developing for years, but hadn’t properly taken advantage of.
That is when I started to take action.
You Only Have Yourself
I believe we all need to be building something for ourselves.
Personal projects and ideas are critical to grow as a person, but to grow our skills.
However, to stand out:
You have to be more public than ever.
I spoke to my Communication Department about AI in 2024.
Why?
We have to standout in a wave of restructures and lay-offs. CVs are useless, Cover Letters are useless.
We have to tell our stories, and show who we are without the reliance on a larger corporation.
The best part of this was, we have the best opportunity ever in history to do this with social media and content creation.
If you use AI effectively, you can really start to take control of the wave and use it for yourself. So in 2026 you have a decision to take:
Sit, stay, hide and wait for the wave to drown you out.
Take control, step up and show the world who you are.
You are the only thing that is left in an AI-First World.
And…the world is ALREADY AI-FIRST.
