Quick Notes
The Runway Summit 2026 happened in NYC, and there was some epic conversations:
Runway reveals real-time AI video generation — Gen 4.5 with Nvidia now generates video in under 100ms from prompt.
Multi-Shot feature ships — Chain AI-generated shots with consistent characters and environments. Wide, medium, close-up shots linked together for structured production content.
Kathleen Kennedy (Lucasfilm) confirms Hollywood adoption — Major productions already using Runway for previs, planning, budgeting, and scheduling on Star Wars and Indiana Jones level projects.
Adobe partnership expands — Runway becomes early access partner for Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and After Effects. Integration rolling out to millions of creatives.
Replace your first 4 hires with AI. Free workshop on April 8th.
Most early-stage founders can't afford their first four hires. Sales, marketing, dev, and support alone can run hundreds of thousands in salaries.
On April 8th, AI thought leader Heather Murray shows pre-seed and seed founders how to build all four functions using AI tools. Live, with demos, for free.

The Summary
Real-Time AI Video Is Here
Runway showed an indication of Real-Time AI video coming soon.
The demo highlighted how you can create an AI video and continue to iterate and test new reactions and changes with live prompts to give you multiple options from a single process.
This was beyond impressive as it showed that the future of creativity is ensuring we are able to generate fast, make changes quickly and then upscale at the end with the final product.
Hollywood Is Already In
When you have Kathleen Kennedy, formely Lucasfilm, on stage at an AI event - you know something is happening.
If you needed proof that AI video isn't just for indie creators, this summit delivered it. Kathleen Kennedy — the producer behind Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park — sat on stage and talked about how Lucasfilm is actively using Runway for previs, planning, budgeting, and scheduling on major productions.
Her perspective was fascinating. She's seen every visual effects revolution from optical to CGI to now AI. Her take? The technology must always serve the story, not drive it. But she acknowledged that AI tools are enabling a shift toward more persistent, real-time storytelling that goes beyond the traditional two-hour movie format.
The "will Hollywood adopt AI?" debate is over.
They already have. The question now is how fast the tools scale across every production pipeline on the planet.
World Models Are Here
Runway also showcased a glimpse of their World Models focus. Where we go further than individual shots, but generating a world around our ideas.
World Models are powerful.
From a creative standpoint, being able to explore a world of our own imagination is unbelievable. It can play a huge part in lore, worldbuilding, video games but also in robotics.
The power of these models is they can replicate reality, and can help test AI in robots in realistic simulations before adapting them to the real world.
ACTION STEPS
Try Runway Multi-Shot — if you have a Runway account, the Multi-Shot feature lets you chain AI-generated shots together. Start with a simple 3-shot sequence (wide, medium, close) to see how it handles consistency.
