Here's what blew my mind: Uni-1 thinks before it creates.
When you give it a prompt, it doesn't just start generating. It performs structured internal reasoning — decomposing your instructions, resolving constraints, planning the composition — all within the same forward pass. It understands your intent, not just your literal words.
I've tested this with complex, multi-layered prompts. Character sheets with specific poses and color palettes. Style transfers that need to balance references without losing identity. Infographics where layout and hierarchy matter.
The difference is stark. It "gets" what you're actually trying to do.
One Model, One Architecture
Here's what blew my mind: Uni-1 thinks before it creates.
Uni-1 is a single decoder-only autoregressive transformer. Text tokens and image patches live in the same vocabulary. It's one continuous interleaved sequence, not two separate systems bolted together.
That sounds technical, but the result is simple — the model understands relationships between words and images natively. No translation layer. No handoff between systems. Just one architecture doing both understanding and generation in concert.
