My Set-Up
CLAUDE COWORK WORKS FOR ME
Setup Claude Cowork to work for your specific needs. Create documents that describe who you are, what are your needs and build these as an Intro.
Take time to analyze what you need, and you can even set this up with Claude Cowork directly.
Create a document that describes who you are, your key responsbilities and what an AI tool could maybe help you with.
The more information you give, the better it is able to understand what tasks it can run.
Every morning when I say ‘Good Morning’, Claude reads all the documentation we have been building to understand its purpose and the updates it needs to give.
Everything is run through a Skill, or sub-agent.
SET UP SKILLS
Skills are pre-determined actions you can give to Claude, and you can edit and update these constantly.
My skill setup involves having a sub-agent (with their own names) for many purposes such as:
Research
Content Writing
Emails
Finances
Each skill is specifically trained everyday on new tasks, projects and actions to take based on what we do together. I see it as a collaboration where every action helps to get the actions more specific to my needs.
Take this newsletter for example - it took a few iterations to get to proper drafts that I can edit here, but it now saves me a ton of time every morning writing.
IT WORKS LOCALLY - BUT PRIVACY FIRST.
The power of Claude Cowork is that it runs on a Virtual Machine (VM) on your device. This keeps things local, but there is still required internet access to use the Anthropic Claude Models
It’s critical you remain aware of the access Claude Cowork has.
My recommended setup is:
Ensure Claude Cowork has access only to a single area on your device where it can make changes, add documents. For me it is a dedicated folder in my Documents.
I gave it access to Google Workspace but to my backup email so it cannot see all personal information, just what I share with it.
WHAT CLAUDE DOES FOR ME
These are some of the things Claude does for me everyday:
Analyzes and tracks every project I am working on, who the contacts are, the tasks, the invoicing and everything.
Gives me meeting summaries from Granola and key action points.
Key research around the world, especially for my travel, on what is happening.
Newsletter and social media post writing.
Proactive Calendar and Gmail access so I know what is coming up today.
