Quick Notes
Google's "February Drop" is here — and it's stacked with creative AI updates.
Nano Banana 2 is the new default image generation model across all of Gemini, with 4K support and 5-subject consistency.
Lyria 3 is now live inside Gemini — text-to-music, directly from Google.
Pomelli just added Photoshoot — studio-quality product photography from a single photo.
Oh…side note:
I'll be speaking at SOUTHSTART in Adelaide next month about scaling content with AI!
Quick ad break!
AI Agents Are Reading Your Docs. Are You Ready?
Last month, 48% of visitors to documentation sites across Mintlify were AI agents—not humans.
Claude Code, Cursor, and other coding agents are becoming the actual customers reading your docs. And they read everything.
This changes what good documentation means. Humans skim and forgive gaps. Agents methodically check every endpoint, read every guide, and compare you against alternatives with zero fatigue.
Your docs aren't just helping users anymore—they're your product's first interview with the machines deciding whether to recommend you.
That means:
→ Clear schema markup so agents can parse your content
→ Real benchmarks, not marketing fluff
→ Open endpoints agents can actually test
→ Honest comparisons that emphasize strengths without hype
In the agentic world, documentation becomes 10x more important. Companies that make their products machine-understandable will win distribution through AI.
All The Drops
NANO BANANA 2
Google's image generation just got a serious upgrade. Nano Banana 2 — officially Gemini 3.1 Flash Image — is now the default across all Gemini modes: Fast, Thinking, and Pro. It also powers Google Search's AI image features.
Here's what's new:
4K output — production-ready resolution, no upscaling needed
5-subject consistency — generate scenes with multiple characters that actually stay consistent
Better text rendering — one of the biggest weaknesses in AI image gen, now significantly improved
SynthID watermarking — all images are labeled as AI-generated by default
Faster generation — Pro-level quality at Flash-level speed
This is the model I use myself. The jump in quality is real!
LYRIA 3
Google can now make music. Inside Gemini. Lyria 3 is Google DeepMind's latest text-to-music model, and it's embedded directly in Gemini.
Select a genre, type a prompt, and generate a 30-second track — no extra app needed. Is it on the level of Suno or Udio? Not quite yet.
But this is Google putting music creation directly in the hands of anyone using Gemini — and that's significant.
Here's why it matters: the barrier to entry just dropped again. You don't need a music background, a DAW, or a subscription to a separate tool.
It's right there. Try it: Open Gemini → Tools → Create Music.
POMELLI PHOTOSHOOT
Google Labs quietly dropped something huge for product creators and marketers. Pomelli — Google's AI marketing tool — just added a Photoshoot feature. Upload a photo of your product, and it generates studio-quality advertising shots using Nano Banana image generation.
Think product photography that used to cost thousands. Now, free. From Google. It's currently available in select countries and rolling out globally. Demand is high — expect some wait times on launch.
Action step: Head to labs.google and try Pomelli Photoshoot on a product you're working with.
I'M SPEAKING AT SOUTHSTART!
Excited to share this one…

SOUTHSTART brings together industries, startups, government, and businesses to talk about what's happening now — and what's coming next.
I'll be speaking about scaling content with AI — how to use the latest tools to create more, faster, without losing quality or authenticity.
